Library Hours

Greetings

All UIS librarians have a Master’s in Library and Information Science and are here to assist you in the research process. From formulating research questions to defining successful search terms, our librarians will guide you to relevant and credible library resources. You can either stop by the Information Desk or contact your librarian to schedule a research consultation.

Requesting Books

The UIS Brookens Library does not provide textbooks. Allthough, professors will occasionally put a copy of a course textbook on our reserve shelf located at the circulation desk.  You can use the Quick Search tool on the libray home page to check our holdings.

  • Brookens Library Homepage
  • I-Share
Brookens Library belongs to a group of 70 plus libraries in Illinois collectively known as the I-Share Libraries. Because you are affiliated with Brookens Library, you are allowed to request books from any of these libraries. Please note that many I-Share libraries will not lend textbooks.
  • My ILL
You can use ILL to request books outside of Illinois. Please note that all textbook requests will not be accepted through My ILL.
