What to Expect at the Library

UIS - United in Safety

Library staff and patrons will be expected to follow all of the UIS - United in Safety guidelines set for campus. 

Expectations when you come to the library 

  • You will wear a mask at all times when in the building.  
  • Eating is not allowed in the building.  Masks may be temporarily removed to take a drink, but must be worn as soon as you're done drinking. 
  • You will monitor yourself for COVID-19 symptoms and not come to the library if you are feeling ill. 
  • You will practice physical distancing (stay at least 6 feet apart and ride the elevator 1 person at a time).
  • You will leave furniture how you found it.  Please do not move furniture. 
  • You will wash your hands/use hand sanitizer stations as you move through the building.  
  • We have provided disinfectant supplies that we strongly encourage you to use to disinfect your workstation before and after use.
  • Book a study table/computer station before coming to study hours to expedite check-in. 

Our actions

  • We have launched a chat service on our website for research help or other library related inquiries. 
  • Research Consultations we be conducted virtually by Zoom. 
  • Computer stations and study tables have been spread out for physical distancing. 
  • Some furniture has been removed or wrapped with "do not" use labels. 
  • We will be cleaning computer stations and study tables daily. 
  • Disinfecting wipes will be available at the check-in desk for study hours so you may wipe your station upon arrival. 
  • Hand sanitizer stations have been added throughout the library.
