Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

This guide provides information on how to use interlibrary loan to request materials.

Requesting Items

There are two ways to submit Interlibrary Loan book requests.

The first is through My ILL found on the Brookens Library homepage:

To request a book, log into My ILL using your NetID and password. Under New Request click on the Book link. This will bring up a new window with a fill-in-the-blank form. The more information you are able to provide, the quicker the request can be processed. The correct and complete title is essential, and the edition is important if there is more than one edition. The author, publisher and ISBN are also very helpful. After filling in all the book information, click "Submit Request" and the request goes to the Interlibrary Loan department. When the book arrives at Brookens Library, an email will be sent notifying you that you can pick the book up at the Main Desk with your I-Card.

You may also submit a request via the Library Search. If you are searching for books and you find a book you would like to request, you can simply click "Request Item". After logging in with your NetID and password the book information is automatically populated and you can submit your request. Any books requested through My ILL will not show up on your My Library Account.

If you would like to check the status of your request(s), you can log into My ILL , email Interlibrary Loan staff or call us at 217-206-6601.
