IDEALS News

IDEALS, the shared digital repository for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Illinois Springfield has moved to a new platform and will be undergoing major changes during the Spring of 2023.

This page will be updated as more information comes available.

IDEALS

IDEALS is the Institutional Repository for the University of Illinois.  The University of Illinois at Springfield has a Community within this repository for the use of its faculty and staff.

IDEALS (Illinois Digital Environment for Access to Learning and Scholarship) collects, disseminates, and provides persistent and reliable access to the research and scholarship of faculty, staff, and students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and University of Illinois Springfield.

Faculty, staff, and graduate students can deposit their research and scholarship—unpublished and, in many cases, published—directly into IDEALS. Departments can use IDEALS to distribute their working papers, technical reports, or other research material.

Creating an Account and Depositing Materials into IDEALS

To create an account to deposit materials into IDEALS, at present this is a two step process:

1) Each user has to first login into the IDEALS system with their NetID and password,

2) The user then needs to inform the site administrator that they want to be added to a specific collection so they can have submittal rights to that collection.

Depositing Materials into IDEALS

Before submitting your work, please be sure to review the guidelines for depositing your work.  As these guidelines are very detailed, it is recommended that you set-up a meeting (in person or virtually) to discuss the material to be submitted and to get support for the first deposit.
