Masters Projects/Thesis/PHD Dissertations

Masters projects and theses are an important record of the scholarly activities of a university's students. University Assembly Bill 6-13 "Policies on Graduate Study" of 1978 stated that "the written portion of the [masters] project must be filed in the University Library."

The UIS Archives holds over 5600 projects/theses received from the 1970s onward. These items do not circulate and may be used only in the Archives reading room. Photocopying is limited to five pages per item. Photocopying an entire project/thesis is allowed only with the permission of the author.

A listing of PhD Dissertations from the Public Administration program is also available. There are circulating copies of these items in the stacks of Brookens Library, archival copies in Archives/Special Collections, and also full-text copies available to UIS users at ProQuest. Users may also be interested in full text of Outstanding UIS Masters' Projects/Theses in UIS Archives' Digital Collections.

Below is a search box that only searches projects, theses, and dissertations in the Brookens Library catalog and which are housed in the UIS Archives. Items are searchable by KeywordTitleAuthor and Subject. If you wish to browse the collection, below the search box are links to program listings. A comprehensive database of the entire projects/theses collection is also available in the UIS Archives.
