The University Archives contributes to the public service and teaching functions of the University of Illinois Springfield by collecting, preserving, and providing access to primary research materials.
The Illinois Regional Archives Depository (IRAD) houses the materials relating to fourteen county records. These records include (but are not limited to) birth, marriage, death, and naturalization records.
The UIS Archives and the Illinois Regional Archives Depository (IRAD) ARE open. However, it is by appointment only! Please call (217) 206-6520 or email archives@uis.libanswers.com. Appointments must be made 24 hours in advance (or longer).
