Friends of Brookens Library 2021 John Holtz Memorial Lecture featured Medal of Honor Recipient Allen J. Lynch on Monday, April 26th, 2021, at 6:00 PM via Zoom.
An evening with Allen presenting his memoir Zero to Hero that featured life lessons from bullies on the playground in the 1950s, to the enemy on the battlefield in Vietnam, and then to the demons of PTSD after the war. His story resonated to all of us- one doesn't have to be a war hero to be wounded by life, and "Al" showed us the stuff of which heroes are made. He is one of 72 Medal of Honor recipients alive today, and you are invited to read his story live in the pages of his book.
Lynch is a native of Illinois, a combat veteran of the Vietnam War, and a Medal of Honor recipient with a lifelong career of devoted service to U.S military veterans.
Co-Sponsored by the John Holtz Memorial Lecture fund, UIS Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Friends of Brookens Library, and the ECCE Speaker Series.
